It’s Gross Outside, Let’s Go See A Movie.
Most would agree there’s nothing better than a dark, cold theatre on an mid August afternoon in Orlando. Except, maybe one with chicken wings. Enter the Aloma Cinema Grille.
Chances are you’ve heard stories about it. Maybe one of your parents met a bitchin’ date there once. Or you saw Bridget Jones’s Diary back in college over 3 bottles of Cabernet. Originally opened in 1978, it’s a vibe, as the kids say. It’s almost as if a group of bored corporate Millennials, yearning for the indoor malls of yore, decided to grab all the office chairs they could find and bring them down to the lobby. And then they hung screens. Maybe dressed up the sconses a bit.

A for Affordable
The Grille, if you will – offers a quite legit affordable way to see latest releases, in a laid back, nostalgic atmosphere. Afternoon shows start at a very reasonable $7/per person, with prime time just slightly higher. See prices below. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or via their website.
ALL SHOWS BEFORE 5 PM – $7.00
ADULTS AFTER 5 PM – $8.50
CHILDREN AGES 2 THROUGH 17 ALL DAY – $7.00
SENIORS 62 AND OLDER ALL DAY – $7.00
ACTIVE MILITARY AND STUDENTS WITH VALID ID ALL DAY – $7.00
Location Info
Located in: Aloma Shopping Center
Address: 2155 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792
Pro Tip – Good or Bad – seating is limited at Aloma, and is first come, first serve. It doesn’t happen often, but we’ve had members of our party who came right before a show started, bumped to a later showing due to them being at capacity.
It’s Got Food, and it’s Good Food
As I alluded to before, if they’re on special that night, grab the bone-in chicken wings. They are surprisingly (for a movie theatre) as tasty as any local pub, and this was before Dexter’s chef updated the menu.

🍕 – 2nd on my list is their pub style pizza, served high on a platter, excellent for sharing. My picky pizza eating family all enjoys their pie.

But Wait There’s More – Green Room Bar and Grill
So as awesome as just grabbing a slightly used office chair and rolling up to a could be slightly bigger table for 4 and chomping down on some wings and popcorn while you watch the latest releases for under 8 bucks per person truly IS – there’s MORE.
Kid + Family Friendly

No Babysitter Needed! Pack a few of your fidgety kiddo’s toys and tuck them into one of the larger “wall-couch” styles booths towards the back or the walls, and order up some fries and popcorn for the group.
Just an FYI, they serve Pepsi products (yeah I know…), so kid friendly options are limited to lemonade, water, and soda of course should you choose, but for the sake of the audience, pick the lemonade.
As a bonus, Aloma Cinema Grille’s sound system is not as loud as your typical theatre surround sound, which is great news for a parent. We often struggle to get our kid to go to Winter Park Village or similar because the decibel levels are simply too high for them.
Why Aloma Cinema Grille is a Win-Win for the Kiddos:
✅ Cheap
✅ Open and Non-Restrictive Seating
✅ Great for Little Ears: Not as Loud as Standard Theatres
Date Night Material
The Green Room Bar and Grill now operates inside for more robust dinner and lunch offerings, as well as some craft cocktails to entice the better than beer and wine crowd.

With that naugahyde chic vibe, snuggle up with your boo over a large popcorn in one of the large bench seats available.
Friend Meet Ups
Don’t sleep on this as awesome and simple way to meet up with your favorite people. With the opening of The Green Room Cafe, you now have the option of grabbing a scheduled show and meal, or just meeting up for a craft cocktail or two with your besties.
It’s Dark and Cold!
Did we mention it’s Summer, in Central Florida? Also, it’s probably raining, has rained, or will rain today. So yes, crispy cool AC just makes everything better.

Stay cool out there, y’all.
